The Sioux Valley Genealogical Society has a Norway General Interest Group for those researchers who are tracing ancestors from Norway. This group meets the last Tuesday of the month. Here are upcoming meeting dates and locations:
The Norway GIG will meet on Tuesday, February 26 at 7 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 3300 E 18th Street.
Sue Eckert and Phyllis Knutson are teaming up to present a PowerPoint presentation and talk about Viking culture and its Contributions for our February GIG meeting. The program will be centered on a book that Sue has been reading, What Did the Vikings do for Me? Sue wrote, “We know or are learning about our Norwegian ancestors contribution of DNA and family history , stories and items inherited. This book takes our story back a bit further and ties things from that part of our past to our present day life.”
Please use the lower level entrance to Grace off 19th Street. Refreshments will be served.
The program that we canceled in January will become our March 26th program on Using the Digitalarkivet. The program will be held at the downtown public library in Meeting Room A rather than Meeting B. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
